Site upgrades

Fred asked for a Gallery viewing tool, so I found a couple of options on the Drupal home site. I have installed a java script one that seems to work quite well. Head over to the gallery section and try it out! (Click on the thumbnail)

The site seems to be behaving much batter now that I have cleaned up the unnecessary processes that were running on the server. I think it also makes the site a little more secure. I am positive now that our site issues a couple of months ago were the result of swap hits.

I have new (used) hardware available for the web server that I will be looking for an opportunity to swap in. It is a perfect opportunity to learn if my site backups are working and to upgrade to the latest version of Drupal.

My day job has me working in Tucson, Arizona quite often (every few weeks) so it can be a little challenging to schedule in a clear time. I am not complaining! When I was there last week the weather was clear and the temps hit 80 by end of the day.

Hey Clark! You should try

Hey Clark!

You should try Ubuntu Server. It's great and will run drupal no problem. I've run a few instances of drupal on it and it doesn't need much of a computer.

The rubber-power.com site is running on Ubuntu.
