Can't believe it is August already. Got to make the most of the summer days to come.
Fred
I only made it out the first day and it was marred by rain in the afternoon. From what I saw and heard from all that attended. It was the best event of the summer. (I have to say I was a little prejudges for the Dynamic Hobbies SMALL event (my fave)).
This event really earned it.
Can you say Jets, there were 2 in the air most of the day.
Electrics, JC was there with his fast machines and a quite a few other electrics.
Twin engines, my Twin Star used to be quite rare, there were at least 5 multi engine machines.
Helis I have to say numbers were low but still I counted about 5.
Weather was poor.
BUT if you want to see the BEST the ZONE has to offer in R/C don't miss today.
Lot's of JETS, BIG planes, little planes and Helis. DON"T MISS IT you will be sorry.
Even if the weather says rain, take the trip you'll like it.
Fred
This should be really big this year. Last year they had really good attendance. This year they have added a Swap Shop(clear out the basement for that new project) and have invited some TURBINE JET JOKEYS.. Can you say FAST ?
I had great time LOL, The weather was FINE, There were lots of Friends, Every type of airplane you can think of. Good food starting with Bill's pancake Breakfast followed by the Swiss Challet Chicken dinner Delivered by Mike Anderson. To a PILE of prizes corralled by Ken Park. The full day coordinated by Debra Park ( reception and main behind the scenes worker) and Case Vanderbelt (Air Traffic Control) Paul Penna (Parking) Rob Del-Ray (safety) Lou Macdonald Prez of our Host club The Rideau R/C Flyers and many others I can't think of right now.
July 19, 2008 RIDEAU R/C FLYERS The Dynamic Hobbies SMALL Event
The Sun was out on Saturday for the 4 rounds of Qualifying. Unfortunately I arrived late (around 2pm)and missed all the fun. There were a few hard workers left practicing for the Sundays main event.
By Sunday, the heavens opened up RAIN. Seems to be the tail of the summer. So the mains are postponed until next Sunday July 20.
I took a few pictures have a look here http://www.dynamichobbies.com/image/tid/26
Muddy fun NOT !
Fred
This is always a must see/enter event. The top Off-Road racers try for the Quebec title. The 1/8 Buggies are rocket ships and the Monster trucks/Truggies are just awesome.
I hope to go and see this event. I haven't seen off road this year yet so this should make up for it. Come see the best.
I have copied the announcement from the www.RCOTTAWA.com forum. I would suggest to watch this site for future up dates
Dirty fun this weekend
Fred
The following Quoted from WWW.RCOTTAWA.COM
Because of the rain on(june 28-29)
The weather was great,no wind to speak of bright sun. The field was in beautiful shape ready for the the War Birds to take flight. My guess would be over 25 pilots and lots of spectators enjoyed a day at the ORCC field.
