ORCC War bird Fun Fly
The ORCC War bird Fun Fly will be held at the ORCC west end power field on Saturday July 5 2008. Landing fee $5 which includes a BBQ lunch. Flying starts at 9AM. Limited camping available (no hook-ups). All types of war birds large or small, fixed wing r heli are welcome. Because this is intended to be a fun event, we will be rather generous with the definition of a warbird. A limited selection of peel-and-stick insignas will be available. Come and show us your war birds!
Weather man did not help out today. It was a light drizzle all day. Even so there was flying most times and I can't believe the spectators..Even in the down pour people just covered up and waited for the next flight.
We finished off the day with a good chicken dinner provided the the Lions club. These great people looked after us all day with coffee and a full BBQ at lunch time. Too bad for them the weather did not help out and the turnout was low..
Tomorrow looks to be more of the same.
I was there Friday, already well attended. Saturday should be the BIG day.
I will be manning the Transmitter impound, drop around and say hello.
I'll be the one behind the Discount Hobby sign LOL. Looks like Discount is the major sponsor for the event. Thanks Richard .

What a day in the sun. I belive over 40 pilots and a lot of spectators had some fun at the Ottawa Electric Fun Fly hosted by the Rideau R/C Flyers. It was a casual event Starting off right with Chef Bill's pancake Breakfast. Then lots of flying and BSing and looking at what everybody else brought out.
I had a great time, 4 good flights with my Diablo ducted fan, and one not so successful flight with my Piggy 3D, the motor seized up all in one piece, a small repair will be needed to fly next time.

Weather was great, food was good, lots of friends. what more can you ask for a GOOD Fun Fly.
I got there about 9:30 AM coffee was on, about 25 Pilots already registered. The field was in good shape, freshly cut that morning. I saw a lot of people I hadn't seen all year and some other very familiar faces.
